Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.

He was omitted from a vital match after voicing frustrations and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.

He emphasized that the team's response was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”

Their results have remained strong in the games following the situation. He feels the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
