President Trump Invites Loved Ones of Injured National Guard Soldiers to White House
Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.
He noted that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.
Details on the Devastating Shooting
US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.
Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Memorials across the state have taken place in their remembrance.
White House Offer
The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state National Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump informed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in Washington DC.

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while armed.
The event caused the government to pause asylum applications and cease providing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of the Airman
Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.
He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.
Attorney general Bondi told a news show that she also intended to speak to the family.
Memory of Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with excellence, per the military.
“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” he addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
